… That lizardman drawing… words fail me. (but the neologism “radawsomtastic” maybe starts to get there ;-P )
Thanks for the kind words! I sometimes wish I put as much time into drawing the comic… though I do think I’m getting better as the years go on.
You’re quite welcome.
I was actually considering asking you about the difference in style between the lizard man and the comic, but guessed the answer would be similar to why ‘Knights of the Dinner Table’ isn’t oil painted and Order of the Stick is… well sticks (note that I’m far from saying your comic style feels stickfigure). When the focus is on delivering the story and the funnies I guess making each panel into Mona Lisa is secondary.
Then again I notice that your style Is far less cartoon’y than lots of the comics out there, which I think also adds to the feeling of ‘real’, and I would even go as far as guess this was a conscious choice on your part
Hmm.. kinda forgetting where I was going with this so I’ll just end by saying that I love the ‘Firefly’ Easter eggs; BEST-SHOW-EVER!
It was for sure conscious. I would like to put more time into the art, but alas, I have a full time job and I’m also working on a novel at the moment. And yes, firefly is amazing.
Oo-ooh! A novel, eh? Sweet! I’m suddenly very curious!
It’s a very different fare than the webcomic. Sci-fi, apocalypse stuff. Though, there’s always a humor to all my writing. I should be done by the end of the year, and then off to publishers with it! If all else fails, I may try self-publishing.
That is so sweet! My favourite kinds of Sci-Fi are actually Post-Apo’ and Dystopian. I can’t wait to see it out! You can already count one pre-order ;-P
It looks like Shamus Young (http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?page_id=15033… although I’m sure you’re already acquainted with who he is and his awesome DMotR webcomic) has been successful enough in self-publishing his novel with CreateSpace… and something galled Lulu? How about Kickstarter? That seems to be the way to go about pretty much anything nowadays. Although, I’m sure you know far better than I how to best get your novel out there (especially in the way you want it), so I guess all I should really be saying is: Best of luck, man!
PS. Will you do your own cover art? That would be really cool!
*called
No way! I don’t know anything! Information is always appreciated. Thank you!
